From the Southborough Arts Center:
“Proposals for community-oriented arts, humanities, and science projects due October 15, 2008.
The Southborough Cultural Arts Council has set an October 15 deadline for organizations, schools and individuals to apply for grants that support cultural activities in the community. These grants can support a variety of artistic projects and activities in Southborough — including exhibits, festivals, short-term artist residencies or performances in schools, workshops and lectures. The Southborough Cultural Arts Council will also entertain funding proposals from schools and youth groups through the PASS Program, a ticket subsidy program for school-aged children.
The Southborough Cultural Arts Council is part of a grass-roots network of 329 local councils that serve every city and town in the state. The program is the largest, most decentralized one of its kind in the United States. The state legislature provides an annual appropriation to the Massachusetts Cultural Council, which then allocates funds to each local council. This year, the Southborough Cultural Arts Council will distribute about $4300 in grants.
Southborough Cultural Arts Council local guidelines and application forms are available at the Southborough Library, Southborough Town House, the Arts Center at Southborough. Submit completed applications to SCAC, Town House, Southborough, MA 01772.
