A temporary reprieve for Southborough-Boston bus line riders

I reported earlier this week that the Southborough to Boston bus line operated by Cavalier Coach was slated to be eliminated at the end of this month because of state subsidy cuts. Today comes word that Cavalier Coach has decided to continue the run through the end of the year.

Without the subsidies, Cavalier Coach will finance the service with their own funds. In an article in the Metrowest Daily News, Cavalier Coach owner Joan Libby says ridership needs to increase in order to maintain service beyond the end of the year.

I suspect, like me, many Southborough residents didn’t even know about the bus line. So, if you’d like to see the service extended into the new year, now’s the time to get on the bus. Schedule info can be found here.

I would love to take this bus, but I’m not sure where I can park. TI called Cavalier and they were very vague about it, saying something like “Look around, you’ll find parking.” Their website says more or less the same thing. If I knew definitely where I could safely park, I’d take this bus in a heartbeat! Does anyone have more information?

There are no lots that I know of, but according to folks at the Town House, there is no time limit for parking along Main St.
