The annual town census form showed up in my mailbox this week, and yours should arrive soon if it hasn’t already.
Massachusetts law (Chapter 51 Section 4) requires towns to create an annual street listing of residents which is used to help maintain an accurate voting list, among other things. You’re asked to review the information on the form, make any corrections, and then return it to the Southborough Town Clerk’s office. Sign and return the form even if no corrections are required.
You need to return the form regardless of whether you’re registered to vote. If you’re not registered to vote, returning the form won’t automatically register you — you’ll have to visit the Town Clerk’s Office to do that. If you are registered to vote, failure to return the form could get you kicked off the active voting list.
