The kids are home from school today … again. Now seems like a good time to think ahead to February vacation when they’ll be home for 5 days straight (9 if you count weekends). If you’re looking for some ways to occupy them, here are a few suggestions.
For the artsy
The Arts Center is offering several one-day classes on Monday, February 16 in everything from clay to t-shirt painting to puppets. If you were hoping for something that would keep the kids busy for several days, consider the School Vacation Art Camp, a 3-day program in clay, drawing, or sculpture. Programs are available for kids in kindergarten through 5th grade. Find more details in this flyer from the Southborough Arts Center.
For the athletic
Older kids will use up lots of energy at a basketball camp being held at Algonquin. The program is offered to boys and girls in grades 4-8 and covers fundamentals and skills development with 1-on-1 and small group instruction. The program runs Tuesday through Thursday in the morning. Find more information on the Recreation Department website.
For those who don’t mind the cold
St. Mark’s is open every weekday during February vacation for free skate from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm.
(February vacation runs from the 16th to the 20th)
