Many of you have been waiting for information about funeral arrangements for Dennis Wrenn. Dates aren’t set yet, but Susan Peghiny Faccenda, co-president of the Northborough-Southborough Music Association (NSMA), passed along this information:
Arrangements to celebrate Dennis’ life and work are taking shape. Although final dates, locations and active participants need to be determined, this is what the family would like to see happen:
On a Sunday following the return of Dennis’ body from Greece, which will hopefully be in the next couple of weeks or so, there will be a wake which will handled by Britton-Wallace Funeral Homes of Auburn (www.brittonfuneralhomes.com). The next day (Monday) a private funeral service will be held for family, close colleagues and personal friends.
On another day soon after the funeral all are welcome and encouraged to attend a Musical Tribute to Dennis. We are working to secure a venue that is large enough and acoustically welcoming enough for this celebratory event. Donations to the Dennis F. Wrenn Scholarship Fund will be gratefully accepted. For more information on the scholarship, please visit NSMA.info or send a message to Scholarships@nsma.info.
Friends, colleagues and alums that would like to actively participate – you are all welcome! It would be great to give everyone a voice on that day. However, logistics and space need to be considered and planned. Any individuals and/or groups who would like to have a 5-minute time slot during the Tribute please contact Tribute@nsma.info with your plan, participants and contact person. Please be as descriptive as possible (music, drama, individual speaker, type of music, physical needs, etc). Dennis’ family and the planning group will try to accommodate as many people as possible, but please understand that time constraints may limit how many may participate.
I know I speak for Dennis’ family when I say thank you to all who have been so kind and generous and supportive during this time.
Update: Funeral arrangements have now been set. Follow the link for more details.
