Every 15 minutes
“People seemed to be affected when kids left class. I know we’re not going to be able to change the whole school, but if one person listened it was worth it.” -Algonquin student Katie Campbell, one of the organizers of last week’s Every 15 Minutes Day, an event designed to remind kids that alcohol-related accidents claim a life every 15 minutes. Throughout the day, a student was “killed” every 15 minutes, when a police officer came to their classroom and escorted them out. (Metrowest Daily News)
Spending bill benefits NECC
“It’s kind of a virtual toolbox for teachers of students with autism. We were delighted with the help we received from Sen. (Edward) Kennedy’s office.” -Vincent Strully, CEO and founder of Southborough’s New England Center for Children on a computerized autism curriculum encyclopedia. NECC was recently awarded $190,000 toward developing the curriculum database from a $410 spending bill signed by President Obama. (Metrowest Daily News)
Virtual Town House
“We’re trying to do a lot more online to serve the public well.” -Assistant Town Administrator Vanessa Hale on the town’s recently updated website. (Metrowest Daily News)
I think the updated website is far better and easier to use than the original. I just can’t seem to locate the archived minutes from previous board meetings. Are those no longer going to be available online?
Hi John, good question. I asked Vanessa and she told me that for some reason the link to meeting minutes didn’t get carried over to the new site. She’s alerted the web consultants, so hopefully the link will be back sometime soon.
