I never went to Callahan State Park as a kid growing up in Southborough. In fact, I didn’t even know about it until quite recentl, which is a shame, because it’s lovely.
Callahan is an 820-acre park tucked in a residential area just over the Southborough border in Framingham. It’s biggest claim to fame is probably it’s off-leash dog areas. And we saw plenty of happy pups on a visit there the other weekend.
You can find more info, including a trail map, on the Department of Conservation and Recreation’s website.
Check out my flickr photostream for more pictures of our trip to Callahan State Park.
If you go, wear your boots. It can get pretty muddy this time of year.
While you are checking out Callahan, check out the great school adjacent to it – Sudbury Valley School (SVS). Great place for a well-rounded education without unecessary and unneeded stress that is rampant in schools today. School is run by PhDs in case some think it’s a bogus academic institution… it’s not.
