If you have 10,000-square-foot, energy-efficient building with at least 40 parking spaces you’d like to sell to the town of Southborough (and, really, who doesn’t?) you’d better act quick.
The town has put out an RFP (request for proposal) for a building that could be used as a new police station. Town administrators are exploring the option of purchasing an existing building instead of building a new one.
But so far, the option isn’t looking so good. Town Planner Vera Kolias tells me no one has submitted a proposal yet. The deadline is Friday.
There’s no article on the April warrant to fund a new police station (purchased, built, or otherwise) so even if a proposal did come in, funding would have to wait until the fall Town Meeting in September.
