Author-illustrator and Massachusetts native Matt Tavares will visit Neary on Thursday as part of a rescheduled Book Week event. Tavares is the creator of Zachary’s Ball
Tavares’ books deal with classic themes like baseball and the Statue of Liberty, and his illustrations are grainy black-and-white pencil drawings that his publisher says evoke a feeling of nostalgia.
