I don’t know about you, but I love it when the odometer on my car flips over to a number with lots of zeros — 10,000, 20,000, 30,000 — although the excitement tends to dim the further out of warranty I get. I recently got to experience the same excitement over this blog, minus the warranty anxiety.
Earlier this week, My Southborough hit 20,000 visits and 40,000 page views since I started keeping track of the stats last fall. That’s a lot of traffic for something that started as a whim.
I think my mother can account for no more than half of the 20,000 visits, so that still means there are a lot of you out there reading this blog each day. And to you I say thanks! I started this blog in large part because I wanted to feel part of a community. It’s turned into a community of thousands.
This blog is as much for you as it is for me. If there are things you’d like to see or stories you’d like to read, I want to hear about it. Leave your ideas in the comments, or feel free to email me.
Well, you deserve the traffic – you do a fine job covering issues and events both serious and otherwise, and you do it with your own voice. The world doesn’t need newspapers, but it does need journalism. Keep up the good work and those numbers will continue to grow!
I must say I heard about this website from one of my clients and ever since I do a weekly if not daily check to see what is going on in Southborough. I have mentioned this website to the rest of my clients and they are now starting to check it out. Keep up the great work!
@Papa Rosa – I don’t really think of myself as a journalist, but I’ll certainly take that as a compliment. Thanks for reading and for commenting!
@Jessica Levenson – Glad you found the blog. Thanks for helping to spread the word!
