Do you care about law enforcement in Southborough? If so, the Board of Selectmen wants to hear from you.
Earlier this month selectmen announced the formation of a search committee that will help find a new permanent police chief for Southborough. But so far, only four candidates have volunteered.
“Members of the concerned citizenry, where are you?” asked Selectwoman Bonnie Phaneuf.
The selectmen are looking for volunteers with a range of experience, from general citizens to those in social services, law, law enforcement, and others. Selectmen Sal Giorlandino said they want a diverse committee to help fill “a critical and important position for the town.”
“I strongly encourage members of the public to step forward,” Giorlandino said.
If you’re interested, fill out a volunteer application and submit it along with a copy of your resume to the Selectmen’s Office, 17 Common Street, Southborough, MA 01772, or e-mailed to selectmen@southboroughma.com.
The deadline for submitting an application is June 3. The selectmen will interview candidates at a meeting later in June.
