I lost power again this morning, and so did 767 other National Grid customers in Southborough. The lights were off — more distressingly, the coffee maker was off — for only about 30 minutes, but even so, it’s the second significant outage in less than a month.
Is this considered normal for National Grid in this area?
I think it has something to do with work taking place on Flanders Road. The power to the finer villages of Southborough comes right from Westborough to the Ashland line.
That makes sense. There were also several hundred customers in Westborough without power this morning. What exactly are they doing on Flanders Road anyway? Haven’t been down that way in a while.
They are replacing lots of poles on Flanders Road.
By the way……my Verizon TV service has been down since.
Update: Verizon has a video outage in the are (what a surprise). No idea when it will be repaired (gee, another surpprise)
I called Verizon, and they just reset my box’s
Just unplug and replug your box and it should reset. That’s what I did.
When I called the outage was in effect, and alas my system could not be reset. Everything is fine now and the screams of my granddaughter watching Elmo are permeating the house
Ah yes, Elmo. For us it’s a daily dose of Peep and the Big Wide World that we can’t live without.
I do feel like we get a lot of power outages. My husband always thinks its when someone hits a pole on Rt. 9 (during rain and snow, especially). Frustrating.
