Time for a new open discussion thread. For those of you new to the blog, the open discussion thread is your place to ask questions, sound off on town issues, or share information with other readers. Here are some suggestions to get you started:
- Ask questions about programs in town or the town itself
- Post a note about things that you’re selling or giving away, or things that you want
- Share a notices about upcoming events (Southborough or otherwise)
- Register your thoughts on town issues or news stories
- Point out interesting or helpful resources
You can add comments to the thread throughout the week. Check back often to see new comments. (If you read the blog via email or RSS, you might want to check the site from time to time for new comments.)
I wanted to share my Southborough-based, mom-run business with your readers! Woodgroove (www.woodgroove.com) makes personalized gifts for newborns and toddlers. We’ve also made personalized wooden blocks for teachers at Woodward and Neary. Get creative and suggest a new product! If we use it, you will get it free!!
Glad to see work is progressing on Cordaville Triangle, we are constantly hearing about the MBTA. Thank you for the name change, this village has lost much of its identity.
Wasn’t a tree and plaque supposed to be placed there in honor of the late Police Chief William Colleary?

Think about it for a minute. The only member of the committee who has legal experience and the only member of the committee who wants an expert to assist in the interview process resigns from the committee. According to the expert’s website, he has experience in hiring about 50 chiefs! And the chair says Rooney’s resignation is a “non-issue.” I wonder if the BOS agree it is a non-issue. Come on folks. Is this really the best our town can do? Very, very disappointing.
I just posted more on the police chief finalists and Rooney’s resignation here:
