There’s no shortage of things to do around town this weekend, but if it’s music you’re after, there’s no better place than the Steeple Coffeehouse. They’re opening their 2009-2010 season on Saturday night with the ever-popular Blackstone Valley Bluegrass.
Calling them “barrel of fun,” here’s how the organizers describe the band:
Together almost 10 years, Blackstone Valley Bluegrass features renown banjo picker Dave Dick, his brother Bob Dick on guitar, Dan Nowlan on mandolin and Ken Taylor on upright bass. Blackstone Valley plays great bluegrass music; the fast ones fast – and the slow ones – with lots of feeling.
Opening the show is Ali Rapetti, a young, up-and-coming singer-songwriter who is studying at Berklee.
The show starts at 7:30 pm. Steeple Coffeehouse is located in Pilgrim Church. Tickets are $15 in advance and $18 at the door. Discounts are available for students and seniors. See the Steeple Coffeehouse website for more details.
Steeple Coffeehouse sponsor Tomasso Trattoria will offer a 3-course Steeple Coffeehouse pre-concert menu for $24 per person ($19 if prepaid with online ticket purchase). It will be available every Saturday there is a show exclusively for concert ticket holders.
