White Bagley Road will be closed for several days starting next Tuesday (11/17) so new culvert pipes can be installed under the road.
Town Engineer John Woodsmall said that due to the extent of the excavation required, the road will likely be closed overnight as well as during work hours for the first couple of days.
The new culvert will help take some pressure off an existing culvert on White Bagley Road that DPW head Karen Galligan says has had chronic issues. “Unfortunately, development in Southborough has led to more water flowing into the stream during storms and the old culvert on White Bagley Road doesn’t seem to be able to handle the additional water,” she said. “So on White Bagley we are installing a culvert above the existing culvert to take extra water during storms.”
The work is a collaborative effort between the DPW and property owners north and south of the stream.
Here’s a map that shows the location of the work.
