The annual juried art show at the Southborough Arts Center closes on December 1, so this is your last weekend to check it out, and I assure you it’s worth a visit.
There are some beautiful pieces submitted by over 25 local artists. There is painting, both modern and traditional, photography, sculpture, collage, and textiles. Judges awarded prizes to the top pieces.
My personal favorite is a gorgeous art quilt called Hearts Quake by Southborough artist Mary-Ellen Latino. It was inspired by the Lord Byron poem “Don Juan,” and I could start at it for days.

Head on over to the Arts Center this weekend to find your favorite. Some pieces are for sale. The gallery is open on Saturday and Sunday from 1:00 to 4:00 pm with a docent around to answer your questions. Or stop by on Monday or Turesday from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm for a self-guided tour. The Arts Center is located at 21 Highland Street (map).
