After reaching its highest level in at least 20 years last month, the unemployment rate in Southborough fell more than half a point to 6.8% in October. That’s still a high rate for our town. Before this year, the last time the unemployment rate was that high was in January 1992 when it reached 6.6%.
The unemployment rate in Massachusetts also fell from 9.3% in September to 8.4% in October. The national rate held steady at 9.5%.
