Winter weather means power outages

I don’t know how things are at your house, but at mine, the power has been flaky all day. Lots of flickering and a few brief outages. National Grid doesn’t show any power outages currently for Southborough, but you can keep an eye on things by visiting their Storm Center.

The Southborough Police Department said they’re having a busy day today with car accidents and even a tree on fire. That could explain some power disruptions.

As of 1:20 pm, there were about 1,400 customers without power in all of Worcester county, which doesn’t sound that bad all things considered.

Did anyone else lose power today?

Update 2:00 pm: National Grid now shows about 170 customers without power in Southborough, all of them south of Route 9 in the Parkerville and Midlde Road area. Power is expected to be restored by 3:30 pm.

Strawberry Hill had so much flickering that I unplugged the TV just in case, but the power stabilized after the big drop out around 1:15.

Well, I didn’t lose power today, but Charter is out.

Today (Thu) anyone else having Charter go on for a few mins, then lose the signal, and repeat, constantly? Seems like it’s been happening at least since 5PM today…and it’s 8:30PM now…
