It’s a good thing the Recreation Department and Friends of Southborough Recreation built us a new ice rink, because while there’s plenty of water in Southborough, not much of it is fit for skating and other winter sports (curling, anyone?).
The Southborough Fire Department wants to remind you that ice on the reservoir is never considered safe to venture out on. The same is true of the Sudbury River Mill Pond behind the MBTA station. Not only are they not safe, but they’re private property. You can read more about ice safety on the fire department’s website.
So, if you’re looking to skate, head on over to the Fayville ice rink. (No word on whether they allow curling, though.)
