Last year the Northborough-Southborough Relay for Life raised more than $40K for the American Cancer Society. Planning is starting soon for this year’s event — to be held on May 14 and 15 at Algonquin — and organizers are actively looking for volunteers to help out.
If you’re interested in joining the campaign, plan on attending a kick-off meeting on Tuesday, February 9 at 7:00 pm at the Algonquin cafeteria.

The American Cancer Society Relay For Life® of Northborough-Southborough will officially get underway as event volunteers and participants gather at Algonquin Regional High School on Tuesday, February 9th for a kickoff rally to launch their fundraising efforts for the year. The rally will explain how volunteers can get involved and feature food, prizes, and raffles. Kick-off celebration begins at 7:00p.m.– join the fun!
The world’s largest grassroots fundraising movement, Relay For Life mobilizes communities throughout the country to celebrate people who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost, and provide participants with an opportunity to fight back against the disease. Relay brings together friends, families, businesses, hospitals, schools, faith-based groups . . . people from all walks of life – all aimed at furthering the American Cancer Society’s vision of creating a world with less cancer and more birthdays.
The Relay For Life of Northborough-Southborough is currently seeking local residents from Northborough and Southborough and the surrounding communities to serve as committee members, team captains, and volunteers for the May 14th event. Anyone interested in joining the planning committee, becoming a team captain, volunteering or just finding out more about Relay For Life is encouraged to attend the kickoff.
