Back in September voters approved the purchase of a new aerial ladder truck. The truck is currently being built according to the town’s specifications, and the Southborough Fire Department has set up a website where you can track its progress.
The new truck will be called Tower 21. The cab is being assembled at a plant in Michigan. Once it’s done, it will sent to a plant in Nebraska where it will be mated to the chassis.
Fire Chief John Mauro Jr. said he expects the town will take possession of the finished truck sometime this fall.
This piece of apparatus will be well worth the wait, and should serve the Town for many years to come.
