Southborough mom Jeanne Vanni was diagnosed with a rare form of stomach cancer two years ago. She underwent treatment and thought she had beaten the disease. But recently she learned the cancer had returned. Jeanne and her husband Scott have two young sons, a first-grader at Finn and a fourth-grader at Neary.
While she undergoes more treatment, a group of Vanni’s neighbors and friends have banded together to help the family pay their significant medical bills. Several fundraisers are planned, including a Bowl-o-Rama this weekend at AMF Town and Country Lanes in Shrewsbury.
The event is on Sunday from 2:00 to 5:00 pm. Admission is $15 per person (child or adult) and includes two strings of bowling, shoes, and a ticket for door prizes. Door prizes include gift certificates from Lazer Zone, Domino’s Pizza, Cold Stone Creamery, and a pizza party for 15 at the Southborough House of Pizza.
Friends of the Vanni family will also have a table at the transfer station (weather permitting) on Saturday, May 15 and May 29 to raffle off pairs of Red Sox tickets.
