If you’ve lived in Southborough for any length of time, you probably already know about the lovely garden center and florist shop that is Gulbankian Farms. The family-owned business has been in town since 1965. What you may not know is that in addition to high-quality plants for your garden — all grown on site by the Gulbankian family — Gulbankian’s offers a full-service florist, along with container gardens, vegetable plants, perennials, and hanging baskets galore. They also have a gift shop that features items from Stonewall Kitchen, Melissa & Doug toys, and more.
Family matriarch Alice Gulbankian was Southborough’s first florist, and Gulbankian’s still offers creative cut flower arrangements for all occasions and floral decor items today. They deliver arrangements throughout Southborough and all the surrounding towns, and can also Teleflora flowers worldwide.
A newer addition to the Gulbankian Farms’ business is the gift shop. Whether you’re looking for teacher gifts, hostess gifts, birthday presents, balloons, or just something pretty for your home, you can find it at Gulbankian’s without having to leave town.
Manager Carolyn Gulbankian, a mother of two, says she loves the enthusiasm of kids who visit the garden center. “My favorite thing is when families with kids come in looking for flowers, gifts, or during the planting season when they’re ready to plant their first garden. We see many happy faces return throughout the summer thanking us for our help. It makes all our hard work worthwhile.”
Gulbankian’s is located at the corner of Mt. Vickery Road and Route 85, across from the post office. They’re open weekdays from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm, and weekends from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm.
