Above: Southborough kids unload donations at the Scouting for Food drive last November
Donations to the Southborough Food Pantry tend to drop off in the summer months, but the needs of the families it serves remain the same. Food pantry volunteers expect a particular need for the following items this summer:
- Tuna and canned meats like chicken and ham
- Canned vegetables
- Pasta and rice
- Cereal
- Tomato products (pasta sauce, diced/stewed tomatoes)
- Jam and jelly
- Peanut butter
- Juice
- Coffee (regular or instant)
- Extended shelf life milk (e.g., Parmalat 1%)
- Toothpaste
- Paper products (paper towels, toilet paper, facial tissue)
- Household products (plastic/aluminum wrap, soap, cleaning products)
Donations can be dropped off at the side entrance of Pilgrim Church — that’s the door near the entrance to the Southborough Town House. The food pantry cannot give out food that has expired, so please check the dates on any donations.
