In Southborough, we save our fireworks for Summer Nights in August. That means if you’re looking to celebrate the Fourth with a bang, you’ll have to make a bit of a trek.
Here’s a list of some of the fireworks shows in our general area. See here for a complete list of displays across the state.

- Lexington – Center Field, Sunset
- Worcester – East Park, Dusk
Saturday, July 3
- Milford – Plains Park, 7:00-10 pm (rain date 7/5)
Sunday, July 4

If it’s a family-friendly party you’re after, you need travel no farther than Westborough. They’ll hold their annual Fourth of July Block Party on Friday from 6:00 to 10:00 pm. You can read more about it on The Boroughs Review blog.
You’ll find more ways to celebrate in this article in the Metrowest Daily News. And if you’re heading into Boston for the concert and fireworks on the Esplanade, note that the MBTA commuter rail will be running on a special schedule. On Sunday, July 4, they’ll run according to the Saturday schedule. On Monday, July 5 — the actual federal holiday for Independence Day — they’ll run according to the Sunday schedule. Thank you Susan! Figuring out where and when we were going to watch fireworks was on my list of things-to-do today. I should have known that you would end up helping me out with my research!
Glad I could help. Enjoy the fireworks!
