As the deadline for submitting an application for the affordable house at 209 Parkerville Road approaches — it’s July 9 — a group of town officials held a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the house last week.
The house was purchsed by the town and then renovated top-to-bottom by Assabet students. It’s now on the market for $189K.
The Metrowest Daily News reports on the ribbon-cutting:
Boland asked former town planner Vera Kolias and former Southborough Housing Opportunity Partnership Committee chairwoman Lydia D’Andrea to cut the ceremonial red ribbon at the ceremony celebrating the project’s completion.
“I want Vera to cut the ribbon because she was such a big cheerleader for affordable housing while she was with us,” Boland said.
D’Andrea, who is moving to Woburn, said she was proud of the work done by the students.
“The attention to detail is what really stands out to me about this house,” she said.
The housing lottery will be held on July 17.
