Two road construction projects are ramping up this week — one on Parkerville Road south of Route 9 and the other on the eastern end of Southville Road. Both will have some traffic impact. Here are more details about the projects courtesy of the Southborough Department of Public Works.
The DPW is starting up construction on two significant projects in town.
The first is the Parkerville Road Water Main Replacement, which involves the completion of the water main installation project that we have been working on the past two years. New water main is being installed between Wildwood Drive and Fairview Drive on Parkerville Road.
The second is the Southville Road Sidewalk Extension. Using money provided to the Town from the State (via former Rep. Loscocco), a new sidewalk is being installed on the north side of Southville Road, from Liberty Drive to the Ashland Town Line.
With both projects, there will be expected traffic delays.
Town Engineer John Woodsmall told me the work will begin today and ramp up over the course of the week.
