Last week the Planning Board interviewed two candidates for town planner. The position has been vacant since former Town Planner Vera Kolias resigned this past April.
Yesterday came word that one of those candidates, current Shrewsbury Town Planner Eric Denoncourt, was offered the position and has accepted.
In a telephone interview this morning, Mr. Denoncourt said he sought the Southboro job because he would be a department head.
“Not unlike Shrewsbury, there are a lot of good people you work with in Southboro, and town planner is a department head position in Southboro with a little bit more responsibility,” the 36-year-old Clinton resident said.
You can read more about the appointment in the Worcester Telegram & Gazette. The Metrowest Daily News has a recap of the Planning Board’s interview with Denoncourt last week.
