Sign up for the Heritage Day Road Race to benefit the Southborough Food Pantry

Southborough Rotary will again this year hold their annual Heritage Day Road Race. It will take place on Sunday, October 10, and all proceeds will benefit the Southborough Food Pantry. This year, there are a number of ways to participate, whether you’re a runner, a walker, or even a couch potato.

Runners have the choice of a 10K or a 5K course. Southborough Rotary hopes to get even more of the community involved by encourageing walkers, who will follow the 5K route, to sign up as teams.

“We are encouraging groups such as town departments, Boy Scout troops, Cub Scout and Tiger Cub troops, Girl Scout, Brownie and Daisy troops, sports teams, mothers’ groups, families, church youth groups, and neighborhoods to walk together,” Rotarian Tessa Stephens said. If they want to make an even bigger impact, teams can raise additional funds for the food pantry by collecting pledges.

For those of you who aren’t inclined to lace up a pair of sneakers, you can still do your part by signing up as a virtual racer. Pay the $20 pre-registration fee, and you’ll get a t-shirt and the satisfaction of knowing you helped out a good cause without any of the sweat.

The race starts on October 10 at 10:00 at Neary School. Pre-registration ends September 21. The cost is $20 per person in advance or $25 the day of the race. Everyone who pre-registers gets a race t-shirt and a goodie bag. Click for the individual registration form or the team registration form.
