The Foundation for MetroWest is inviting area teens — including those from Southborough — to apply for its Youth Action Council. Sounds like a fantastic opportunity. Read on for all the details:
Applications for the Foundation for MetroWest’s 2010-2011 Youth Action Council are now available on our website. The Youth Action Council (YAC) is a hands-on grantmaking program comprised of youth from numerous MetroWest communities. They are entrusted with reviewing and granting up to $10,000 in funds to nonprofit organizations serving children and youth.
The Foundation is looking for conscientious, thoughtful, service-minded, and all around interesting youth to participate in the 2010-2011 YAC. If you know of any high school age youth who might be interested in participating in this unique program, please have them complete the application can be found on our website at www.foundationformetrowest.org/about/yip/yac.
This year students participating in YAC will:
- Help people in the MetroWest in need
- Have fun with peers from other communities
- Volunteer in the community
- Eat some pizza
- Learn more about the communities they live in
- Wonder why they didn’t do this before
Applications are due by September 30th. Interviews will be conducted after applications are received. Contact Jennifer Ubaldino, at jubaldino@foundationformetrowest.org or (508) 647–2288 with any questions.
