I recently came upon what’s left of two enormous trees in Southborough’s Rural Cemetery, and I contacted DPW Superintendent Karen Galligan to ask what happened.
Galligan told me three large limbs from two different trees came down in a windstorm on October 14. Amazingly, the limbs didn’t damage any headstones when they fell. The town called in their tree removal contractor to take down what was left of the two trees.
Galligan sent along a photo of how things looked the day after the storm.
