The race for representative in the 4th Middlesex District, which includes Southborough precinct 1, was a tight one. When all votes were counted, Republican Steven Levy had a slim 100 vote margin over incumbent Democrat Danielle Gregoire.
Gregoire considered asking for a recount, but late last week decided to concede the race.
Levy was the heavy favorite in Southborough precinct 1, capturing 58% of the vote. In addition to Southborough precinct 1, the 4th Middlesex District includes Marlborough and Berlin.
I met Steven Levy when he came around to my neighborhood a month or so ago. I don’t remember the last time I actually met a candidate running for office at my front door! Refreshing… I wish him the best, and my thanks to Danielle Gregoire for her hard work.
I also met Steven Levy when he came around my neighborhood, and he was very nice and articulated his goals well. Danielle Gregoire stopped by much earlier in the campaign season – I wasn’t home and she left a handwritten note. I was impressed with both candidates and can see why it was such a close election. Both really wanted the job and worked hard. Thanks for your work, Danielle, and good luck to Steven.
I want to take this opportunity to say thank you to the residents of Southborough for your support and for giving me the opportunity to represent you on Beacon Hill. I promise to continue working hard on your behalf. Thank you Helen and JD for you comments. I join you in thanking Danielle for her service.
The inauguration is January 5th and I do not know how long it will be before I have an official statehouse e-mail account. I am presently trying to set up a new website for constituent services, looking for a district office location, interviewing for a legislative aid, and preparing legislation to be filed for the new term.
I will post all of the new contact information once everything is set up. If you need to reach me before then, please continue to use the campaign site http://www.StevenLevy.org and email Levy.Committee@comcast.net.
Thank you, again, and I look forward to hearing from you.
