For those of you following the approval process in Westborough for the proposed CSX chemical transfer station, here’s the latest.
The Westborough selectmen were scheduled to meet with CSX on Tuesday, February 22, but that meeting has been postponed, most likely to March 1.
While the selectmen won’t be taking up the topic on Tuesday, the Conservation Commission will be. They’ll continue their working session on the project starting at 7:00 pm in Room 23 of the Forbes Municipal Building (map). An update will be provided by the town’s assistant conservation officer.
Meanwhile, the Westborough Planning Board has requested a more detailed traffic study from CSX:
Because the site will increase the number of tractor-trailer trucks coming from Walkup Drive onto Flanders Road and toward Rte. 9, Desrosiers said a traffic study is required. The study, which began in October, would focus on traffic, car crash history, road conditions and the average speed of cars and trucks.
But Desrosiers said that CSX’s initial file records did not include information on crash or speed analysis, and now CSX provide the Planning Board with that information at its next update.
“There was an awful lot of information not provided,” he said.
