Mark your calendars for the annual Pilgrim Church Mission Possible Silent Auction to be held this year on Sunday, March 20 at the church. The event, which has sold out the past five years running, raises money for the Senior High Youth Group’s annual mission trip, as well as humanitarian work by the Men’s Club.
This year the youth group will send 38 teens and nine adult chaperons to the Chicago area to work in food pantries, homeless shelters, soup kitchens, and with local churches in need of repairs to their food pantries. Meanwhile, the Men’s Club will embark on their annual trip to work with Habitat for Humanity in Maine.
Items in the auction include sports tickets, vacations, and more. Here’s a partial list:
- Red Sox premium tickets (4 seats)
- Patriots pre-season tickets (6 seats)
- Buzzards Bay Cape home for a week
- Avon Signature Barbie
- Pizzeria Uno’s pizza of your choice a month for a year
- An evening of babysitting (up to 5 hours) by our expert teen babysitters (several
sitters to chose from!) - Pre-packaged dinners by Mama Pietro
Food during the event will be a family-style meal provided by Mama Pietro’s Homemade Italian. In addition to the auction, there will also be a 50/50 raffle.
Tickets to the event are $25 per family, $6 for children and seniors, and $8 for individual adults. You can purchase them in advance by emailing sarahjhile@yahoo.com..
Organizers are still accepting auction donations. In particular they’re looking for gift cards from local businesses. To donate, contact Pilgrim Church at (508) 485-4847.
