Here’s one for those of you who want to keep that Irish feeling alive for a few more days:
Author and filmmaker, Mary Pat Kelly, will visit the Southborough Public Library to share her many family stories on Ireland, the struggle of the Irish in history, and to talk about her most recent book, Galway Bay
, which has just recently been published in paperback. The public is invited to this free event on Tuesday, March 22 at 7:00 p.m.
Ms. Kelly has worked in Hollywood as a screenwriter for two large movie houses, and in New York City as associate producer with Good Morning America and Saturday Night Live. She received her PhD from the City University of New York.
Among the book’s many praises, the late Frank McCourt said, “After reading her novel you might wonder if Mary Pat Kelly knows everything about 19th century Ireland, the Great Famine, and the emigrant experience in America. As they say in Ireland, ‘take your ease with this book’ you’ll need time for laughter and tears and pure magic.”
