Do the streets of Southborough look a bit nicer to you this week? They should. On Saturday at least 57 groups of Southborough residents spent the morning picking up trash all around town at the annul Spring Clean Up event.
You might have noticed the volunteers in blue t-shirts filling trash bags as you drove around town on Saturday. DPW Superintendent Karen Galligan estimates residents collected about 30 cubic yards of trash.
“We covered about 75% of the roads in town,” Galligan said. “It’s a great testament to the value Southborough residents place on the environment and the town … It was a successful day. Hopefully everyone had fun.”
Many thanks to all the volunteers who donated their time and effort to help keep this town looking beautiful.
