You’ve probably noticed the yellow DPW trucks out and about on the streets of Southborough lately patching up the damage done this winter. Some of the larger paving projects have also begun, so you might encounter delays and detours on certain routes.
Repaving of Parkerville Road from Route 9 south to Wildwood Drive got underway last week. DPW Superintendent Karen Galligan said repaving work may begin today on Southville Road. The portion of Southville from the Westborough town line to Woodbury Road is slated to be repaved, but Galligan said they will skip the section of roadway from Cordaville Road to North Street because it’s in relatively good condition.
For a complete list of roads scheduled to be repaved this spring, see this post.
Any idea why they put the straw down when paving?
I’d think it would be to limit weird rain runoff from the paving process. I was interested to note the black fabric lining the storm drains.
Interesting. What makes them think it’s going to rain?
hahahhahaha!
