Southborough postal workers will once again participate in the annual USPS Stamp Out Hunger food drive on Saturday. Last year our letter carriers collected 1,400 pounds of food donated by residents, and all of it went to the Southborough Food Pantry.
To participate, all you have to do is place nonperishable food in a bag, then place the bag next to your mailbox. The postal carriers will do the rest. Please be sure to check expiration dates to make sure canned, boxed, and other goods are not expired.
Food Pantry volunteer Barbara Jandrue says this year the pantry is in need of detergent, paper towels, toilet paper, dish soap, granola bars, snacks and crackers, so keep that in mind when you fill up your bag. They have plenty of pasta, sauce, peanut butter, jelly, tuna and soup in stock.
