Hi, poison ivy vines are creeping on to side walks in several places, along Rte. 85 and several other roads in south side of the town. Wondering did town authorities ever do any thing about poison ivy in past?

It’s sad but the south side seems to be the ugly step child in town. The road rehab was supposed to start May 9, Ok, but is there a completion date? For years the ‘sidewalks’ meandered around trees, and now I heard that 60 to 80 trucks of fill are going to traverse the road everyday for three months. Aside from Ms Stephens, I didn’t read any other comments or worries over that travesty. What gives?

This concerns me as well. I walk Southville Road daily to catch the train. I witnessed the curbs go up in the month of June, but the project seems to have stalled with only dirt filling in where the sidewalks will be. I’m wondering if they are waiting for the new month to open up the rest of the funds for finishing the job? I’m not familiar with transportation budgeting, yet. The above avg amount of rain in June might not be helping matters. According to http://www.weather.com/weather/monthly/01772 we’ve had 5.19″ of rain and avg is 3.41″.

Has anybody else noticed that the new sidewalks look narrower? There’s places that look like they are a foot more from where the edge used to be. I’m hoping that there’s enough room for two people side-by-side!

Yes, if the CSX transfer station gets overhauled, as it appears it is going to, we’ll be seeing 50-60 trucks a day for three months. Apparently they need a lot of dirt to improve the foundation of the site. read more here: http://railwestborough.com/

I’m new in town. Where do folks usually go for fireworks and other 4th of July activities?

Fireworks for the Fourth usually in Milford, Marlborough, Framingham or Natick.
Check out this for info on local Fireworks:

Hope that helps.
And I live on Southville Rd and it was bad enough before they started digging things up but if they weren’t going to follow through right away then they should have left it alone until they could continue to complete the project. No it’s more of an eyesore and a huge problem for residents and walkers then it ever was. People now have to walk in the street in order to avoid spraining an ankle on the dug up curbs.

Thanks for the info! The first link was for Middlesex county and the second one was from a 2007 article.

It looks like Milford is having a

I was able to search for the towns you suggested and found a good resource for every display in the state here:

Nice…I pulled up what I had from Middlesex and Worcester Counties (sorry about the 2007, that’s what was bookmarked). Glad you found what you were looking for though. And yes Southborough Summer Nights is August 28th and it is always a great event for residents and families. With food, activities and fireworks, every year it gets better and better!!!!

I am a frequent walker of Southville Road and find myself driving by each week to see if progress has been made so I can get back out there…but none! They paved Parkerville Road in three days…so what gives with the sidewalk project?
