With a month left before the start of the new school year, the combined district school committees voted unanimously to appoint Christine Johnson as the new school assistant superintendent. Johnson will replace Ewa Pytowska who announced back in January that she would leave the district at the end of the school year to return to teaching.
Johnson’s name may be a familiar name to some of you. She worked as a teacher and assistant principal at Algonquin from 1988 to 2011, when she was hired as principal at Northbridge High School.
The Metrowest Daily News reports Johnson is happy to be back in the Northborough-Southborough district:
Johnson said it was a tough decision to leave the district 10 years ago, but she realized that “in order to grow, sometimes you need to go.”
She likened her journey since leaving Algonquin to a trip using a GPS, saying she feels she’s hit all the right stops along the way and decided to turn for home.
