Residents of Parkerville Road (south of Route 9) and High Point Road say they lost power again this morning after having it restored earlier in the week. (See comments here and here.) Both areas report losing power around 6:40 am.
The National Grid map shows an outage in the area affecting 122 customers with an estimated return to service of Sunday, September 4.
In total, National Grid reports 306 customers in Southborough are currently without power.
Susan, I wanted to thank you for your tireless efforts throughout this ordeal. With only my iphone to keep me updated during and after the storm, your constant twitter updates were extremely helpful. I’m certain the rest of the residents and business owners in town appreciate your efforts as well. Thanks again.
i echo the exact same sentiments as Warren, and I know others do as well! With darkness and quiet all around I honestly walked around with my iPhone and waited for your tweets! thank you so much for your ongoing support for the residents of the town~many many thanks
Like Warren, I’ve relied on your posts here to keep updated. The information from you helped me make some decisions early in the week to make sure that my family is safe.
Thank you.
Thank you Susan for the information you have posted on this blog!
When I was getting a cup of coffee this afternoon on Rt 495, I saw a convoy of Michigan bucket trucks. They said they had been preparing for this trip since last Tuesday and had been on the road since Wednesday! They were heading to Foxboro because much of that town still is without power, but the Patriot’s stadium and all has power! I wonder how their Selectmen are handling that situation ;)
I asked these workers how often they heard thank you or praise from local residents. A few just chuckled. One said they didn’t expect to hear it from folks in the northeast. Too bad.
We live south of RTE 9 and got our power back yesterday afternoon. Our phone is dead, no dial tone. I’ve been trying to contact Verizon all day with no luck. Has anyone else had this problem?
If you have a phone modem (probably in
the basement) re-set the outlet that it is
plugged in to.
Yes, I have had this problem as well….my phone is totally dead. I did reach
Verizon but only via their repair website and scheduled a repair person to come out.
Unfortunately, the first available was next Tuesday. Virtually impossible to speak
to a human on the other end of the phone. I was able to “live chat” with someone on the website and they told me there were no “problems” in my area and it was most likely just me.
I have gone to the phone modem in my basement but not sure how to reset it?
There should be a small red (or black) button
right in the middle of the outlet. It is a re-set
button. Just press it.
Thank you!
