Town seeks damage reports from Tropical Storm Irene by 9/12

Did your home or property suffer damage during Tropical Storm Irene? If so, the town wants to know about it. They’re compiling loss data in an attempt to qualify for federal disaster funding. The deadline for submitting damage/loss requests is Monday, September 12. Here’s more information:

Hurricane Irene Residential & Local Business Damage/Loss Request:

In the wake of Hurricane Irene, the Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency (MEMA) has requested each community to submit Initial Disaster Assessments.  This data will be used to calculate costs related to the storm and will be the sole bases in determining if Federal Disaster (Financial) Assistance (FDA) is applicable.  In order to receive FDA, each County must reach a set cost threshold, therefore it is vital for the public to submit all the requested data.

Attached are the forms that must be filled out.  Please refer to the Residential – Business Damage and Instructions sheets.

The Town of Southborough is requesting that all damage and loss directly associated with Hurricane Irene be reported by residents and businesses no later than Monday, September 12, 2011. Forms can be submitted via e-mail to naspesi@southboroughma.com or dropped off that the Town Hall.
