Clayton Rock, 85, died Friday morning after a long period of failing health. He was the husband of Janice (Newton) Rock. He was born in Plattsburgh NY, the son of the late Clayton and Isabelle (Roche) Rock and lived in Southborough for the past 58 years.
He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp. serving in WWII. He was the owner and operator of Rocky’s Landscaping in Southborough for the past 35 years. Besides his wife he is survived by 3 sons; Richard Rock of Southborough, Joshua Pechonis of Oregon, Paul Pechonis of Northborough, 2 daughters; Linda Gonynor of Arkansas, Lisa Dumont of Oregon.12 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by 1 son Peter Pechonis and 1 daughter Tracy Pechonis.
A graveside service will be held on Friday at 10:00 a.m. at Rural Cemetery in Southborough. At the families request there will be no visiting hours. Arrangements under the direction of the William R. Short and Son Funeral Home (www.shortfuneral.com) of Marlborough.
