The Light Up Southborough pumpkin display is one of the highlights of Heritage Day, and I’m always amazed at just how creative Southborough residents get with their pumpkin carving.
The pumpkin lighting happens this year on Sunday, October 9. Drop your pumpkins off in front of the library from 4:30 to 6:30 pm. Pumpkins will be lit at and on display along Common Street from 7:00 to 8:30 pm.
If you need some inspiration before embarking on your carving, check out the photo gallery below of pumpkins from last year. There are also lots of resources on the web to get your creative juices flowing. Here are just a few:
- Pumpkin carving ideas (FamilyFun magazine)
- Pumpkin carving and decorating ideas (Martha Stewart)
- Pumpkin carving (Better Homes & Gardens)
- Pumpkin carving tips (National Geographic Kids)

Ooooh! Thanks for the ideas! My kids go to bed too early for the Pumpkin Lighting, but I’m hoping to make it next year.
