Two Neary students will be the first to tell you that sometimes making a difference doesn’t take anything more than some spare change and a little bit of initiative. Fifth graders Julia Howard and Chloe Beland wanted to do something to help the lives of children struggling with cancer, so they asked their classmates to bring in spare change to donate.
Through their efforts, the girls raised $230 in quarters, dimes, nickles, and pennies. Earlier this month they visited the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute with their donation. Chloe’s mom Kim sent in this photo.
Wonderful idea, girls! I’m very proud of you.
Nice job girls!
