For the second year in a row, the Algonquin girls soccer team’s season has been ended by Shrewsbury. Algonquin fell in yesterday’s Central Division 1 semifinal match by a score of 2-0. Shrewsbury also knocked Algonquin out of the playoffs last year in the semifinal round.

Algonquin finishes the season with a still impressive 13-3-2 record. You can read more about yesterday’s game here.

The girls soccer team may not have been looking for a repeat of last year, but the Algonquin girls field hockey team surely is. The defending Central Division 1 champions will look to hang on to their title tonight as they play Wachusett in the division finals. The game starts at 7:00 pm at Foley Stadium.

Also tonight, the Algonquin girls volleyball team takes on Lincoln-Sudbury in the Central-West Division 1 semifinals. The game starts at 7:00 pm at Lincoln-Sudbury.

The Algonquin boys soccer team was scheduled to play their semifinal match against Worcester South tonight, but the game has been postponed to Friday because of rain in the forecast. The game will start at 4:00 pm at the Morgan Bowl in Hudson.
