Southborough Police report a home on Main Street was broken into yesterday. It’s the second Main Street burglary in as many weeks, and the fourth residential break-in within a month. Here are the details from the SPD Facebook page:
Another home on Main Street was broken into yesterday, and several items (including a television, laptops, etc.) were taken from the residence. This is the second B&E that has occurred during the past week. Our officers are out there patrolling the neighborhoods, but we could always use your help. Please keep an eye out for any suspicious activity in your neighborhood, and always call the police department when you believe a crime may be occurring. Do not approach a suspicious person on your own- call us right away and try to remember the important details of your observations (license plate number, clothing, color of skin, general direction the suspect fled). An observant resident’s call has already led to the capture of one B&E suspect in our town!
Late last month police arrested an Ashland man for attempting to steal copper pipes and fixtures from two vacant homes on Oak Hill Road after a neighbor spotted him and called police.
Police say it’s not unusual to see an uptick in break-ins around the holidays, as thieves turn stolen goods into cash. Find more information on how to protect your home in this post from last year.
