Edward A. Pessolano, 88, of Canterbury, NH and formerly a long time resident of Southborough, died on Tuesday, December 6, 2011.
He was the husband of Josephine F. (Lye) Pessolano for over 64 years.
Born in Marlborough, he was the son of the late Anthony and Vita (Martucci) Pessolano
Mr. Pessolano was a World War II Army veteran, serving in the ETO. He landed in Normandy after the initial invasion, ending with occupation duty in Germany. When General Patton made his famous run into Belguim during the Battle of the Bulge, Ed was one of the many also making the historic run. Upon his discharge he worked in various machine shops and retired as a supervisor for Fenwal Electronics. He was a member of St. Bernards Masonic Lodge for over 50 years, and served as District Deputy Grand Secretary. Ed was active in the Southborough Rod and Gun Club. He and his wife loved to travel. They especially enjoyed cruises.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his son, Michael Pessolano and his wife Janet of Canterbury, NH; 9 granddaughters; 1 grandson; and 7 great grandchildren.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday, December 9, from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the Morris Funeral Home, 40 Main Street, Southborough, (Morrisfuneralparlor.com) A Funeral Service will be held at 12, Noon, at St. Mark’s Church, 27 Main St., Southborough. Burial will follow in the Southborough Rural Cemetery.
