The annual toy drive at the Southborough Fire Department continues this week, and there’s still time to drop off your donations.
In years past the donations have gone to the Salvation Army, but this year organizers decided to pass along all the toys to Hopkinton-based Project Just Because, whose mission is to help local families in need. Before the donations go to Project Just Because, Southborough Youth and Family Services will get an opportunity to select holiday items for the families they support.
You can help by bringing new, unwrapped toys to the Fire Station anytime between now and Christmas, but preferably before December 20. Go around to the back of the Fire Station (by the parking lot) and ring the bell. Someone will be there to answer the door between the hours of 9:00 am and 3:00 pm. Outside those hours, fire personnel will answer the door and accept your donation as long as they are not out on a call.
