Does anyone know what an abondoned 911 call is. Maybe someone calls 911 and hangs up before police get a chance to answer. Thank you.

Thank you to the police man for removing the tree limb from the road. I think a resident could have and should have easily done that without calling the police.

I believe an abandoned call is one where the resident dials 911 and hangs up before the call is completed. I think that as a matter of routine the police stop by the house and check on it if there is an abandoned call.

I had this happen to me once when I tried to call India. Somehow, the sequence that started the call was 911 in the call and it rang the police station. I hung up and a few minutes later the police were pulling into my driveway to make sure that everything was ok.
